MTX Publishing House

We publish a few books we believe in.

You keep the copyright. For two years the House is the publisher of that edition. Then the book is yours to take anywhere.

This is not a listing. A place in the house is a card and your own store. Publishing is the other door. We read the manuscript. We say yes or no. If yes, we edit it, put the imprint on it, and publish it. We do not accept everyone. A no is a real answer.

Submissions open January 1, 2027. Questions can come now. Manuscripts are not read before that day.

1. 01

   The read

   One hundred and fifty dollars, once. It buys a real read and a written yes or no within sixty days. It does not buy publication. If the answer is no, you keep the manuscript and the House keeps the fee, because the read already happened. If the answer is yes, there is no second fee.

2. 02

   If we say yes

   You still own the copyright. The House receives an exclusive license to publish that edition — paperback and ebook, in English, wherever Amazon sells it — for two years from the publication date. During those two years you do not publish the same book somewhere else. Of the money Amazon actually deposits, you receive 70 percent and the House receives 30 percent, paid quarterly with a statement. There is no advance. The House edits, assigns the ISBN, and prints MTX Publishing House on the copyright page. The book is published from the House account.

3. 03

   When the two years end

   The license ends by itself. No one has to ask. The House stops printing that edition. The text is yours to take anywhere. The jacket the House made can go with you. The ISBN stays, because a number cannot be given away. A new edition needs a new ISBN. You do not call that new edition MTX Publishing House unless we both sign again. Either of us can end the license sooner if the other side breaks the contract. Not because the book sold slowly.
